In this program, we will step back into the 1600s and bring Rochester audiences some of the finest works of the generations before Bach and Handel, performed by five solo voices and a small instrumental ensemble, all early music specialists. The program will include music from Schein's masterwork "Israels Brünnlein"; a rarely heard setting of the beloved chorale tune "Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern" by Thomas Selle; Buxtehude's joyful "In Dulci Jubilo"; the gorgeous "Rorate Coeli" by Schütz, and more! The audience will be invited to sing along in select chorales, in beautiful settings by Schein and Crüger.
