“Pump” is a snappy and smart social issue documentary that proposes some intriguing solutions to the United States’s dependence on foreign oil. PUMP commences with a brief examination of the history behind gasoline-dependent transportation in the States, and asks viewers to consider who profits by our continuing reliance on fossil fuels. Even more provocatively, the film urges its audience to consider all the ways in which we pay for gasoline.
