PUNK | Black Ribbon

Local band Black Ribbon makes its own brand of pop punk, drawing influences from bands like Descendents, Green Day, and Alkaline Trio. Black Ribbon's music encompasses all the important qualities of pop punk — including a knack for melody, palpable energy, and a rebellious attitude. The band refers to its genre as "90's punk rock," and it's clear through its music that the group has a true reverence for pop punk of the past. Due to its energetic approach toward music making, Black Ribbon is a band that is sure to put on a great live show.

Black Ribbon performs with On The Cinder, Stolen Bikes, and Comedown on Friday, February 21, 10 p.m. at Monty's Krown, 875 Monroe Ave. Tickets are $3 at the door.
