Along with bands like Suicidal Tendencies and Corrosion of Conformity, D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) helped usher in thrash elements to the hardcore scene. Formed on May 2, 1982, around 4 p.m., according to the band's website, D.R.I. has released seven albums, steadily shifting from hardcore punk to thrash, earning it the title the fastest band in the world.
