RECREATION | Cumming Nature Center

Getting out of the house to enjoy the fresh air can be a great way to break through the winter doldrums, and a great way to embrace the current weather is skiing or snowshoeing. Rochester Museum & Science Center's Cumming Nature Center has you covered — with more than 900 acres to explore, you can take advantage of the three-mile snowshoeing loop or 15 miles of picturesque ski trails. An ideal option for a family activity, the equipment rentals are convenient and inexpensive: $15 for the ski package and $5 for snowshoes. And if the snow has melted, there are plenty of hiking trails available.

RMSC Cumming Nature Center, 6472 Gulick Road, Naples. Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free for members, $3 donation for individuals, $10 donation for families. 374-6160. rmsc.org.
