Re: “Our anti-inaugural

Mel - the fact that you are "mystified" and don't see that as an issue is the problem. There are liberals out there who seek the truth from both sides. Liberals who study news rather than troll twitter feeds. Liberals who attended Clinton AND Trump rallies to educate themselves and to understand. There are also libertarians and republicans who studied their liberal counterparts. These people, on both sides, voted how they thought best - whoever that candidate may have been. I have no desire to debate politics in this forum as there are no winners and it just digresses to more hate. If news sources like the City newspaper were not so terribly one sided, then perhaps you too would be more educated about the people and the issues, rather than "mystified" that anyone exists who is different than you. You have a right to your opinion - but an uneducated (aka "mystified") opinion loses its validity and is indeed inconsequential in any true debate.

Re: “Our anti-inaugural

I know that the City of Rochester is very liberal. While I fully support the first amendment and respect journalistic integrity, I really, really, wish this newspaper would realize that not ALL of their readers are leftists. That doesn't make us racists, bigots, or hate mongers either. We voted our heart. Maybe we voted for Trump because we wanted him as the president. Maybe we were forced to vote for Trump because the alternative was completely unpalatable. The democrats lost. I wish they, and all the naysayers here, would simply accept their loss and stop with the name calling and emotional battery. This paper especially needs to realize their readership is diverse and quit pandering to the side that's crying the loudest. Hillary may have judged us without knowing us and lumped many of us into her "basket of deplorables", but that doesn't make it true. The City paper needs to start showcasing some political diversity rather than practicing their own brand of leftist fear mongering.
