Rio Tomatlan

You might not find Rio Tomatlan unless you were really looking for it; tucked away on a side street in downtown Canandaigua, this inviting Mexican restaurant distinguishes itself with walls full of vivid art and an equally eye-popping selection of tequilas, most too nuanced to bury in a mere margarita. Owner/chef Rafael Guevara’s food also commands attention, from simple, satisfying tacos and burritos to complexly flavored tamales, pozole, sopes, and enchiladas.
