Rochester school board names four RCSD superintendent finalists 

After a three-month search, the Rochester school board has identified four finalists in its search for the City School District's next superintendent:
  • Terry Dade, assistant superintendent of the Fairfax County Public Schools in Falls Church, Virginia (180,000). Prior experience: executive principal for school improvement and four years as a principal in the Fairfax County district.;
  • Devon Horton, chief of schools of Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky  (101,000 students). Previous experience: deputy superintendent of schools in East St. Louis, Illinois, for four years.
  • Sito Narcisse, chief of schools for Metro Nashville Public Schools (86,000 students). Previous experience: associate superintendent, Prince Georges County Public Schools, Maryland, for three years.
  • George Eric Thomas, chief turnaround officer for the Georgia State Board of Education. Previous experience: chief support officer at University of Virginia Darden/ Curry Partnership for Leaders in Education, Charlottesville, for five years.

The public will have a chance to meet the finalists at public forums on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, between 12:30 and 3:15 p.m., at Freddie Thomas Learning Center, 625 Scio Street. Narcisse and Thomas will be present on May 4, Dade and Horton on May 5. The forums will be also be live-streamed on the district's website at and on RCTV through Spectrum Channel 1301.
