Mary Anthony lived her life in the shadow of her famous sister, suffragist Susan B. Anthony. Yet the role she and numerous lesser-known women from Rochester and Monroe County played in the women’s rights movement was crucial to its success. This talk will explore the history of the Rochester Political Equality Club and introduce you to some of the local women who put their “boots to the ground” to keep suffrage at the forefront in Rochester.
