Sand Mandalas last for just a short time, but the images and messages cling to the emotions for years. Experience the beauty of this meditative art with local artist Katie Jo Suddaby. Visit each day, June 17th-21st as Katie Jo "paints" an homage to LGBTQ advances using thousands of grains of colorful sand. At the close of the library's "Stonewall, 50 Years Out" exhibit, on July 20th, the image will be brushed away in a ceremony to celebrate the next 50 years of expansion for LGBTQ rights.
