Re: “People of color much worse off here, report says

The report offers this definition of structural racism: "A system in which public policies, institutional practices, cultural representations, and other norms work in various, often reinforcing, ways to perpetuate racial group inequity."
THIS is extremely TRUE from the school to the job. What is equally as disturbing is that many Blacks in Rochester NY help to perpetuate the white mans evil ways.

Re: “RCSD students still struggle with the basics

But in Rochester, precious few students are proficient in math or English. Few function at grade level. For instance, only 6.7 percent of city students are proficient in English language arts, up two points from last year. And math scores declined by 0.2 percent, which leaves just 7.2 percent of city students proficient.

As a parent of a high functioning autistic Black male child i must declare that ....it ALL begins at HOME. He scores HIGHER than the students with no special educational needs that are considered proficient. Living in Rochester NY --- UNDER a Brooklyn roof.

Re: “Looking for positives in city schools’ news

Smaller class size, for ONE.

Holding students accountable for bad behavior, NO BULLYING.

All staff must adhere to the SAME rules/regulations. No favoritism, nepotism, RACISM or cronyism.

I'd send my children to a Charter well before I'd put up with all the foolishness in the Diss Trick.

Re: “Dems say proposed integrity office lacks independence

The ability for the fox to guard the hen house is too common in Monroe County, who are these people fooling ?

"While the aim of the legislation is laudable, its current form only gives 'public integrity' lip service, primarily because the office would not have independence, as recommended by the Association of Inspectors General," Wilcox said in a press release sent out by Democrats after the vote. "You can't expect someone to honestly investigate the person who signs their paycheck and can fire them at will."

Re: “A path out of poverty

I agree EDUCATION is the key.

How important is EDUCATION when you're retaliated against and ostracized which leads to false charges because you wrote a required report for your Human Services class that exposed inadequacy AND racism.

To some, your EDUCATION is worth ruining.

Such is the case with Susan K. Porter-Conklin of the Judicial Process Commission and her co-conspirator Yolanda Assamoah-Wade in conjunction with Monroe Community College.

Ask Jada Williams how she was handled after giving her personal assessment.
Rochester NY is hypocritical and racist as they smile welcoming you with one hand and a knife behind their back in the other.

Many doors have been locked by various gatekeepers.

Re: “Standing up for city schools

I guess when the Rochester City School District is the only school one has ever attended, it's difficult to decipher how bad it is when you have nothing to measure it against. I am not a native nor did I attend this districts school. Therefore, my views are completely on another level.
