Re: “Film review: 'La La Land'

Seb's posture as the white savior of jazz is ridiculed in the film. It's John Legend who has the last word "How can you be a revolutionary if you're so stuck in the past?" I don't get the racial "backlash" against the movie. Blacks invent the music and the white dude wants to save it. La La Land turns that into a joke. Why is that a problem? It's so obvious the film is enthralled with black culture this whole controversy is utterly ridiculous.
