The City Seen: February 5-6

Notes from the weekend

Last weekend, City ventured through The Hungerford Building and Writers & Books during First Friday, then went over to Roc Brewing Co. on Saturday for the Dudes Night Out 3rd Anniversary Show.

In line with the new Fungerford events, Heartbreak Hotel brought out Valentine's Day themed art, such as Gretchen Arnold's rejected Valentine's cards, and fun effects like the temporary tattoos created by Mary Ethel Rockcastle. Visitors could have had their picture taken, participate in raffles, and write down their best break-up lines.

First Friday at Writers & Books focused on its "If All of Rochester Reads the Same Book" program with a scavenger hunt and a reading by Sonja Livingston. You could also go on a blind date with a book, and purchase a wrapped book for $3 based on a cryptic description on the package.

Saturday night was the Dudes Night Out three-year anniversary "Triptych Show" at Roc Brewing Co. with trippy artwork from its members. Matthew Roberts was also there working on a mural depicting Roc Brewing's brewing process.
