The objective of the community meeting is to organize community members at large, against historic, and ongoing practices of individual and institutional racism throughout the Rochester community — particularly via the media and it’s representatives. We are serving notice that the negative portrayal of people of color in the media will no longer be tolerated. People of color accomplish great deeds in our community on a regular basis, yet positive accomplishments are not often highlighted by our media outlets. Mr. Gerard Hunt, Director of the FDRC said “we look forward to hearing Rochester City Councilman Adam McFadden explain to the larger community, the possible implications of heightened racial tensions in our community.”
