THE WEEK AHEAD: Events for the week of March 27 

The Interracial Clergy Council of Henrietta and Rush will hold a community conversation on the topic “Immigration: Then and Now” on Tuesday, March 28. The Rev. John Walker will provide a historical look at how the country has reacted to immigrants in the past and will discuss the role faith communities can play in welcoming immigrants today. The event will be held at Henrietta United Church of Christ, 1400 Lehigh Station Road, Henrietta, at 7 p.m.

The Rochester school board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 28, on the 2017-2018 budget. The hearing will be held at the district’s central office building, 131 West Broad Street, at 6 p.m. And Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams will hold her “kitchen table” conversation in the same location on Thursday, March 30, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The meeting offers an opportunity for parents, teachers, students, and community members to talk with the superintendent in an informal setting.
