THEATER | 'A Christmas Carol'

'Tis the season for a redemptive tale about an unfettered capitalist who, scared witless by ghosts, becomes a kind-hearted benefactor (though not frightened enough to become a socialist). Charles Dickens's classic, moralizing novella, "A Christmas Carol" has given us unforgettable characters in Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and The Ghosts of Christmas (Past, Present, and Future), and the play has become a holiday staple on Rochester stages. Geva Theatre Center's production was adapted by Artistic Director Mark Cuddy, and the show features music and lyrics by Gregg Coffin.

"A Christmas Carol" continues through December 29 at the Wilson Stage, Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Boulevard. Adult tickets start at $25 and kids' (ages 5-12) tickets start at $18. See the full performance schedule online. 232-4382; gevatheatre.org.
