THEATER | "Bare: A Pop Opera"

"Bare: A Pop Opera" is a dramatic coming-of-age rock musical that tells the story of gay high-school seniors at a Catholic boarding school and addresses issues of bullying and acceptance. The show explores personal identity and body acceptance, two issues that directly correspond to how powerful and capable we feel. OFC Creations and the Rochester Association for Performing Arts will present "Bare" at RAPA's East End Theatre (727 E. Main St.) this week.

The show takes place Friday and Saturday, January 3-4, and Thursday through Saturday, January 9-11, at 7:30 p.m. Talkback sessions with the Rochester Gay Straight Alliance Youth Group, "Bare" cast members, and representatives from the Rochester MCC Open Arms Church will be held directly following the performances on January 4 and 11.

Tickets are $15 and available online at rapatheatre.org, at all area Wegmans, by calling the RAPA East End Theatre Box office at 325-3366, and at the door one hour before curtain. For more information, visit rapatheatre.org.
