THEATER | Beauty and the Beast 

The fairy tale story of "Beauty and the Beast" has been around since 1740, when Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve first published her rendition. Since then, there have been countless retellings and versions of this classic. "Beauty and the Beast" first took the stage in 1993 in Houston, Texas, and has since been performed in more than 13 countries. The show features the Disney animated film's Academy Award winning score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.

Beauty and the Beast will run from Tuesday, May 13, through Sunday, May 18, at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre, 885 E. Main Street. Show times include Tuesday to Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices start at $32.50.
