Nobuhiko Obayashi’s 1977 film “Hausu” is a psychedelic ghost tale following a schoolgirl traveling to her ailing aunt’s creaky country home, where she comes face to face with many ghoulish surprises. The Andrew Alden Ensemble is a Boston-based group that writes new scores for old films with influences from Radiohead, Velvet Underground, and others. They will accompany “Hausu,” with music written specifically for it – just like in the glory days of silent film, with a Little twist.
