Voices of Experience is an after school educational program for girls grades 6-12 that features four accomplished women role models from diverse backgrounds speaking about their lives and how they overcame challenges to achieve their goals. The program includes a presentation by the role models, open mike session where the girls are encouraged to ask questions and share stories, and reception with pizza and cookies. Voices focuses on “life experience” for girls. Through this program, the Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley emphasizes the importance of a woman having an education and/or the skills to take care of herself financially.
