Deputy Mayor Leonard E. Redon will be joined by Rochester City School District Superintendent Dr. Bolgen Vargas to celebrate the efforts of 90 local professionals who volunteer their time to share their expertise as mentors to Rochester City School District students. The Pillars of Hope initiative recruits African-American and Latino professionals who, as a team, adopt a school where they can make an impact with their regular presence. Pillars share their experiences and advice and provide positive support to city youth. More information on the program can be found at www.cityofrochester.gov/pillarsofhope.
