18+ 20 years ago, to the day, will mark the release of one of the most influential albums in indie-rock: Weezer's seminal "The Blue Album". In honor of this occasion, The Bug Jar will be hosting a supergroup comprised of some of Rochester's most talented musicians, who will be covering the entire record, from "My Name is Jonas" straight through to "Only In Dreams". In case you have been living under a rock, rather than listening to it, for the past 20 years, here's a brief bio of the record, from Wikipedia: "The Blue Album was released on May 10, 1994. It was certified gold just under seven months later on December 1, 1994, and certified platinum on January 1, 1995; since then it has gone three times multi-platinum in the United States. The album peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard 200. As a single, "Undone – The Sweater Song" peaked at No. 35 on the UK Top 40, and "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So" peaked at No. 12 and No. 37 on the UK Top 40 respectively. In the U.S., "Buddy Holly" peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart."
