I would agree that it did not feel like a season opener. I was really disappointed, and I think you hit exactly why here - the time shifts and sloppy, pointless exposition; the imbalance between the two storylines; and the nature of the zombie kills (yes, this group has clearly learned how to better defend themselves, but it is the season opener so it just added to some of the pacing issues). Hopefully, the Governor's introduction in episode 3 will get things on the right path. Otherwise, maybe I'll end up sticking to the comic.
