I am disappointed with Evan Dawson. He has dropped the three monthly topics that I and many others found most useful as witnessed by the many phone calls that came in on these. Specifically these are the garden segment, the home repair segment, and the antiques & collectibles segment. I have a feeling that Dawson is angling for a position in a larger market and doesn't want to do topics that won't contribute to his resume. It's only three hours a month. That leaves at least 37 other hours to fill with subjects that he thinks will advance his career. I think he owes the listeners that.

I don't disagree with Gerald Pierce that parents should equip their children with fundamental skills necessary for success in school. However, what does Mr. Pierce suggest we do when parents fail their responsibilities? Do we just throw their children on the garbage heap? Doesn't it occur to him that when we fail to help these kids we are creating another generation of parents who can't or won't prepare THEIR children accordingly? Like it or not, if we fail these children in the same way their parents do, we are only perpetuating the problem.
